My passion for baking goes back to a date I honestly cannot remember.
My knowledge has been acquired from many sources for a number of years, the first, being handed down to me by my mother, also a keen baker & cook. I have completed catering courses including Advance Cake Decorating, which is where I mastered the finer cake decorating skills. The rest of my skill set has been self-taught: I believe we never stop learning, and I am always experimenting with new ideas and inviting fresh challenges. Because of this I keep myself open to that constant progression, always striving to be a little better than I was yesterday.
I love hosting dinners and lunch parties and have made countless celebration cakes for friends and family over the years – which have really put my creativity to the test! The joy of seeing the surprise and excitement on people’s faces when I present their cake is one of the things, I love the most, and in these moments, the spark that is now Infusion & Slice was born.
Before creating Infusion & Slice I worked for 21 years in a corporate office environment in the city, but always saw this as just a “job”. I gave up working in the city after having my 3rd child in 2017. I knew then that this would be my chance to change my career and follow my heart.
It was around this time I hosted my first Afternoon Tea for a special friend’s birthday, with everything from vintage china cups and saucers to cake stands and napkins – the time spent whiling away the hours with my favourite people while eating dainty sandwiches and sweets and drinking real leaf tea was one of my happy moments – this was my lightbulb moment and the rest they say is history…
I want to bring the feeling, fun and memories I had that day to as many people I can.
In January 2021 we were inspected by the Food Standards Agency and have been awarded a level 5 Food Hygiene certificate.
